Ningyogeki (人形劇 lit. "Puppet shows" or "Puppetry") are a genre of television shows. Some of shows in this genre are classified as a tokusatsu such as Fireball XL5 (1962) and Thunderbirds (1965). Sometimes elements of this genre are integrated into tokusatsu such as Kawaii! JeNny (2007).
Multiple Taiwan glove puppetry series (e.g. Thunderbolt Fantasy (2016)) also used technologies borrowed from tokusatsu, however, they are still called "non-tokusatsu" in Japan.
