009-1 is a live action tokusatsu film adaptation of Shotaro Ishinomori's 1967 adult manga which is an unrelated spinoff of the classic 1964 manga Cyborg 009. The film was commissioned to celebrate the anniversary of Shotaro Ishinomori's 75th birthday in 2013.

The film was acquired by Right Stuf and Tokyo Shock and received a US DVD Release on October 28, 2014. It is also available for streaming viewing on Crunchyroll and Netflix. A dubbed version was announced for release on March 06, 2017[1].

Plot

The film takes place in a universe where the Cold War never ended and growing conflicts from the Eastern and Western Block factions result in the rapid advancement of technological warfare. In this conflict, the cyborg spy Mylene Hoffman of the Zero Zero Organization battles the agents of the Eastern block in a game of high tech espionage with the fate of the world in the balance...
